Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you’ll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you’ll find that you have more of it.
Gratitude or appreciation
Expressing and feeling gratitude has, for a long time, been a practice for creating peace and joy in life.
I started my first gratitude diary when I was in my twenties. Recently I have found an even more powerful way of creating joy.
Gratitude tends to focus on the past
We are often grateful for things that have already happened or that we have already created in our lives.
Love and appreciation for the present is a very powerful way of focusing on the positive, creating joy in the moment, and attracting more wonderful creations.
A rampage of appreciation in the morning, in the car, or before you sleep is extremely powerful
Begin with the words: I love and appreciate. Start with the general things in your life and then get more specific for example: I love and appreciate my home, my job, my family, my health, etc. Then look around at the blessings in your life and feel love and appreciation for each one.
When this becomes a daily practice, you begin feeling love and appreciation for everything, even the challenges in your life. You begin to see hidden blessings even in the so called “negative” aspects of your life.
What of the future: can you feel love and appreciation for the future
Absolutely, start with the words: “I am looking forward to” or “I see myself:”
I love and appreciate my family and friends and I am looking forward to a fun-filled weekend. I see myself, celebrating, laughing, loving and having many joy-filled moments.
